KS2 DATABASES VOCABULARY​
Basic Vocabulary
Database – A place where information is stored in an organized way.
Record – Information about one item in the database, like a person's details.
Field – A specific category of information, like "Name" or "Color."
Input – Adding information into the database.
Question – A yes or no query that helps sort items in a branching database.
Outcome – The answer or result at the end of a branch, showing what the item is.
Intermediate Vocabulary
data Type – The kind of information in a field, like numbers or words.
Branching Database – A tool that uses yes/no questions to organize and sort items.
Attribute – A quality or trait that describes something, like "size" or "shape."
Sort – To arrange information in a specific order, like alphabetically.
Search – To look for specific information in a database.
Output – The information you get from the database after searching.
Advanced Vocabulary
Decision Tree – A chart that shows how questions and answers sort items.
Query – A way to search for specific information using rules.
Filter – A tool that shows only certain information based on what you choose.
Field – A place to enter one type of information, like "Date of Birth."
Edit – To change or update information in the database.
Node – A point in a branching database where a question is asked.
